TO THE COMMUNITY
One of DMC’s main goals is to provide dialysis services for the people within the community. We have been successful at bringing patients closer to home through the dialysis units within the community where they dialyze. These patients have the security of knowing that they have a nephrologist and hospital to go to if needed while having the comfort of dialyzing closer to home. Since dialysis can be a traumatic and time-consuming procedure, we make every effort to reassure our patients by providing compassionate and efficient care. Each unit is set up with the requirements of the profession and the local community in mind. For patients’ comfort and security DMC provides:

  • Free wireless internet service, flat screen TV, DVD access, portable telephone
  • Refreshments served; coffee, tea, ice
  • Camera surveillance in the waiting room and other areas of the unit
  • Access to the unit via intercom and manual or remote control activation by staff
  • Patient transport coordination
  • Coordination of Clinic appointments
  • Processing of travel package, copy of blood results and other reports
  • Exercise bike
  • Free parking

 

TO EDUCATION
DMC ensures:

  • Staff’s annual attendance to CANNT and ANNA Conferences
  • Attendance to Regional and Local seminars
  • In-house inservices
  • CPR and Defibrillation Certification
  • CANNT certification sponsorship

 

 

TO LIFE
At DMC, the staff strives at providing educational, emotional support and a nurturing environment for the patients. We treat everyone with respect and we recognize the different diverse issues that can arise in a multi cultural setting. Staff and patients develop a special relationship. Because of this, patients at DMC tend to be healthier, happier and more motivated to travel, go on the kidney transplant list or simply pursue personal interests. We support travel and send information package for our patients intending to travel. We coordinate transplant work up with home hospitals and we encourage and educate our patients regarding staying healthy, quality of life and transplantation.
